Unlike most traditional damage-reflection cards this one has no color restriction, and does not target the source that deals damage, which means Banefire and Hexproof cannot stop you.

So it's a more flexible Boros Fury-Shield because it's rare? Pretty lame...

It appears that the rulings for this card are contradicting. If the target of the card becomes invalid prior to damage being deflected does it invalidate the entire card and therefore no damage is prevented or is damage still prevented just not assigned.

Also if you were to be attacked for 4 damage, could you set up divine deflection to prevent 10 damage in order to prevent any further damage this turn? If so would it assign 4 damage to the opponent rather than 10 (providing that no further damage was attempted)?

@Kage_Chitoshi You just need to read rulings carefully, if the target becomes illegal while the spell is on stack the whole spell fizzles. However if the spell resolves it creates a trigger that redirects next X damage dealt to you to the previous target, if after triggering divine reflection would deal damage to that same target it ignores shroud/hexproof etc.

Slightly better version of Captain's Maneuver. It's prevent and deal damage instead of redirect, which is either a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it.

I like this better than Shining Shoal because this can stop an army of zombies.
