Interesting... People says 12/12 flier for 7 mana is not enough. And maybe 4, with geosurge. I really don't understand that how 12/12 flier on turn 4 could be bad?

The card itself isn't terrible, but a mythic rare definitely deserves more than a big number next to a keyword. All in all it's just another seven mana kill-this-or-I-win creature, and it's not even the best one in the set.
Rune-Scarred Demon, Garruk's Horde and Sphinx of Uthuun bring card advantage; Carnage Wurm is almost as big and uncommon; Sutured Ghoul can easily be bigger; and Pentavus is five bodies in one (with a few infinite combos).
I'm really not feeling the flavor on this one.

Turn 1: Reveal Chancellor of the Tangle. Play mountain. Cast Lotus Cobra.
Turn 2: Attack with Lotus Cobra. Play Arid Mesa, make R with Cobra. Fetch a Mountain, Make R with Cobra. Tap both Mountains to cast Geosurge. Cast Furyborn Hellkite.
It'll probably never happen though, sadly.

The only tiny drawback is the 3 red in the casting cost - makes it a bit harder to cast exactly when needed in a Karthus Commander deck, but hey, it's still a fun card. A 12/12 flyer for 4RRR is not to be laughed at.

Mind you, you also have 7 mana which could be dumped in a handful of other small-card combos. Pick and choose, really.

this right here is what mythics are all about. mythics are suppose to be flashy. you're suppose to audibly go 'wow!' when you read them. bankslayer, planeswalkers, etc. are NOT mythics because they are merely based on power level. i want mythics that impress me, not make me go 'if i don't own a playset, i automatically lose'.
