Grizzly Bears with an ability. Nothing game-breaking, but it's o.k. I guess.

Its a superior card in not just graft decks, but also in decks that play flyers, shrouded creatures, tokens, and creatures with persist. The art work is as equally superior as the usefulness of the card; I esteem the mutant arachnid along with the overgrown buildings in the background.

sarroth: I think that as a state-based effect ANY counters that cancel eachother out will be removed. A creature with a +1/+1 counter and a -1/-1 counter on it will, as a state based effect, have both counters removed.

That is indeed correct. If a creature has a +1/+1 counter on it, adding a -1/-1 counter removes it. That works the same the other way around as well. That's why persist can be such a PITA. Granted, this wasn't how it was originally, IIRC, but it is how it is now.

Sadly, the only spider mutant in the game.
I liked the movie where the guy bitten by this blocked the goblin balloon brigade.

I don't know if graft could be used with persist decks. Would the grafting of a +1/+1 counter actually remove the -1/-1 counter from a card with persist, or would there just be two counters on the card whose effects cancel each other? Because even if the counters cancel each other and the +1/+1 and -1/-1 make the card +0/+0 from whatever it is, if the -1/-1 counter is still on the card when it hits the graveyard the persist ability will not trigger.
I can say though that the graft ability, combined with Aquastrand Spider's other ability, is good to give green creatures reach that would not otherwise have it. Combine with Llanowar Reborn to graft more counters onto creatures.

Ability should have cost {U} to activate seeing as the spider is weaving webs of water.

I love how synergistic evolve and graft are with one another - cards like this can either grow your monsters or grant them handy abilities. Reach is also a handy ability to grant to your team, since this has traditionally been a weakness of green.
