How is it "strictly" better? Do you understand what that word means?

Tranquility cost one less and has a different (yet similar) effect. If you are playing an enchantment-lite deck or a suicide black deck with punishing enchantments, Tranquility would almost always be better. In multiplayer, as whiteshadow said, Tranquility would cause more damage.

So no, this card does NOT replace Tranquility in all cases, so it is NOT strictly better. I've never heard of a card with a HIGHER cost being strictly better than anything (unless there is some alt-cost built in)

Back to Nature is strictly better than Tranquility. This is not. OmegaSerris does a good job of explaining why. I'll just add that this is stopped cold by enchantments like Leyline of Sanctity/Ivory Mask or Solitary Confinement. And it's definitely not uncommon to see those in Enchantment decks.

You guys arguing over which is technically better than the other are silly. They all fill different needs.

Calming Verse
Primeval Light
Spring Cleaning
Cleansing Meditation

These sorts of cards are meant to be run in enchantment heavy decks, but for taking out all opposing enchantments while leaving yours intact.

Tranquility
Back to Nature
Tranquil Grove
Tempest of Light

These sorts of cards are meant to be run in decks that have little to no enchantments, or don't care about losing them.

Again, each 'type' of card has its niche. I tend to rely heavily on enchantments, so I fill my (EDH) decks with the first type, so mine stay safe.

Is Primeval Light 'strictly better' than Tranq? Depends on how you look at it. At least Primeval Light saves your own enchantments. If you don't care about that, then Tranq is bett... (see all)

By itself 4cc is a bit pricey for something that doesn't also hit artifacts, but oh man, Enchanted Evening.

My favorite enchantment removal will always be Serenity. Not because it's objectively the best or anything, but just because the idea is beautiful and well-represented by the card's mechanics. Calm your mind, rest awhile, open your eyes, hey look your troubles are no more.

I use this as my finisher in my Slivers Enchanted deck. Enchanted Evening+ Primeval light/Harmonic Sliver. If they disrupt the combo then I just fall back to the standard sliver beatdown

Great card to use in an enchantment deck. Enchanted Evening, anyone? Green and White are suddenly more friendly.

@Tetsu_tora

Strictly better than Tranquility in 1v1. My EDH deck would always run Tranquility over this, as it has 2 enchantments, and its possible that everyone else I play against has many.
