Each Time Spiral card was an homage to at least one previously printed card.
The card references Lay of the Land; this spellshaper turns any card in your hand into one! During Time Spiral, the Greenseekers were sect of withered elves wandering the barren landscapes of Dominaria seeking plant life. From the flavor text, Freyalise, who can be seen on many cards such as Planeswalker's Favor, was a green planeswalker heralded as a goddess to many of the races of Dominaria throughout the Magic storyline; Skyshroud Forest is a displaced elvish haven that was transferred from Rath during the events of Planeshift. Freyalise and Eladamri, Lord of Leaves located the displaced forest in the mountains of Keld, where they were shielded from the events of Apocalypse, as depicted on the card Skyshroud Blessing.

I like this card for two reasons:
1. As opposed to Silverglade Pathfinder it's a one-drop.
2. Its activated ability is based on the tutor card Lay of the Land, therefore you don't get any card disadvantage from using it. It's similar to having "Basic landcycling 
" on one card in your hand.
It might even be useful in Madness decks. It's not a Wild Mongrel of course, yet this could also find use to reduce the amount of lands in the deck. It's a risky move though in case it gets hosed.

A very decent 1 cmc creature that can accelerate many different style of decks. From the first glance most would assume animator. And well it does serve as an effecient tool in the such, I would pour a little more thought into this card. Usually 1 cmc cards (being a creature that is) will not usually have game turning effects, and most highly rated 1 drops even fail if drawn in the later stages of a game, and sometimes will be just as bad as top decking a land. But even while not supporting the animator deck and pitching oh... Iona, Shield of Emeria to re-animate in the same or following turn for the likely concede from your opponent... It may serve as good support for a creature likeKnight of the Reliquary, and perhaps other cards that may feed from lands like Horn of Greed. But if we continue to examine... Greenseeker is a fantastic card to have in a ressurection deck.
Turn 1: Play Greenseeker
Turn 2: Discard the fattest creature in your hand, grab an extra land
Turn 3: Use Animate Dead to bring your fattie into play
The last two times I played my ressurection deck I had a turn 3 Teneb, The Harvester and a turn 3 Plated Slagwurm, both of which quickly won their respective games and all of which was facilitated by the innocent looking Greenseeker.

the point is that the elves suffer without natural growth around them. most everything in time spiral is starving, but not from lack of food. from lack of mana.

If you're running cards with Retrace, Greenseeker can effectively spellshape for the retrace spell too (replacing the cost of "discard a land card" with "discard any card and pay {G}"). Best target for this is likely Worm Harvest, being on-colour and gaining specific benefit from being cast multiple times in this way.
