Each Time Spiral card was an homage to at least one previously printed card.
This card is referencing Spindrift Drake in mechanics; the flavor represents the Dal culture from Tempest block; the culture (along with the Ved and the Kor) used the naming conventions of en-Dal for members of the tribe and il-Dal for the traitorous outcasts

At 1 mana for 2 power with shadow, he is a key starter for an aggressive blue deck.

The drawback really hurts your tempo, but you get a lot of bang for your buck.

This is one of those cards that can do a lot of damage if you're opponent isn't ready for it. Also: combos with ninjas.

I drafted an awesome W/U deck with this and Teferi's Moat. Sweet blue beater.

This is very good for a common. The recurring cost is the only thing that keeps it from being overpowered.
plus, Nobody has the proper defence against shadow creatures unless they exclusively make a deck for them, or have the shadow sliver.

Works pretty well in a ninja deck, as a backup for Ornithopter or Tormented Soul.

Would have to have haste to be really good, but blue is blue
