Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker. Because everyone loves a free card on every player's turn.

the art looks like an ork killa kan from Warhammer 40k, haha! Seems like it could be good with proliferate or energy chamber.

Okay, I'll be the slack-jawed jerk and mention Doubling Season. Lets you cycle through your library; {1}: Draw a card, then discard a card.

A good enabler, of course in the Legacy games you'll do that in, you can do far better. Perhaps it could be a Modern engine. But there isn't that much of a reason to have cards in your graveyard in Modern, since there's no good reanimation in the format...

This card allowed me to win with 40 cards in hand in a Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker EDH deck. Absolutely insane if you use it correctly.

It would be nice if some sort of mad junk collector who built more contraptions like this worked his or her way into magic lore. The sleek and symmetrical machines that make up the rest of artifact creatures are just looking kind of boring now.

We need more rumbling scrapheaps with giant cast-iron clokcwork claws, dammit!

This reminds me of the 4th Edition Triskelion

Synergy with Madness and Recur decks. An underrated card.

The card is alright.
A big plus is the fact that when your opponent uses removal on it, you can respond by activating his third ability and remove his initial two counters to draw a card, so you're save from card disadvantage.

I just wish the discard wouldn't cost mana to activate, then i'd so play this in a Madness deck.
A double-costed artifact Mongrel with permanent boost that can be turned into cards sure would sound tempting, wouldn't it? :D

I just love the design of this guy. He's very playable, as he can serve as a discard outlet, a card drawing engine, and a fatty all on the same card. In any deck where your graveyard matters, he is a great utility. The activation costs never bothered me, keeps him from being the first Arcbound Ravager... Note that it is free to remove his counters in response to removal.

@Omenchild: This is the second comment of yours i don't like. After the one i read about Cursed Scroll, anything you say is completely discredited. I think what themicronaut is trying to say is that madness would work well witht this, not that it is your key IDEAL card to use for madness. Everyone knows you can do 15 damage on turn 2 with Wild Mongrel, thats great, but this card is fun.

I love this card, something about it, i just love using craatures with multiple interactive abilities. Also, madness is no longer a competitive deck so therefore this card is perfect for casual play, which is the only place madess is played anymore.

This card would work well with recurrsion too.
