Dancing Scimitar is a welcome addition to any deck in need of some extra flying defense. In terms of casting cost and ability, Dancing Scimitar can be compared to Phantom Monster, Roc of Kher Ridges, Giant Spider, and Wall of Air. The advantage Dancing Scimitar has over both Phantom Monster, Roc of Kher Ridges, and Giant Spider is that it is able to effectively block some of the game's premier iconic flying creatures - Serra Angel, Sengir Vampire, Air Elemental - without dying. Also, its colorless casting cost means it's more versatile and can be used in a deck that is any color(s). And unlike Wall of Air, the Scimitar can attack for a point of damage whenever necessary.

All of what Eppek says is quite true, however, the thought of strapping something like Sword of Body and Mind to this makes me laugh every time. "Quick! Give this sword to that sword over there!"- Puresteel Paladin

Wait, so if a spirit is controlling the scimitar, why is this an artifact creature? Silly errata.

@ richardshort:
maybe the scimitar just became sentient and thus the artifact part... ;)
