So if you played this and then used something for kill tons of 1/1 (Deathbringer Thoctar, Volcanic Fallout) you could destroy every single enemy forest?

Play with Vision Charm and the like to ensure your opp. has forests to animate (and kill).

I'd rather sideboard this against an opponent's green deck rather than use it in earnest with my own forests.

Yes, yes, your opponent can sweep the board with removal to cheat you out of lands. That much is obvious. It's also clear that when attacking with lands, there are better options - Life and Limb is basically this with a Saproling bonus, and manlands generally outclass this, as they boast less risk. Even something like Rude Awakening works, (though pricey) as you can control exactly when your lands are vulnerable. Living Plane affects all lands this way, so it's even easier to take down opposing lands. Natural Emergence and Nature's Revolt make more durable critters. So granted that this makes lands tantalizingly fradgile, what can we say about the merits of the card?
Timber Protector stops all those shenannigins you seem to find so amusing, as does Terra Eternal. Pantheon mentioned the combination with attack triggers, namely, Beastmaster Ascension. That's indestructible (with th... (see all)
