One of the best cards in the game, and an omnipresent addition to any deck running black. Doom blade will hit more types, but Terror cancels regeneration so they are equivalent.
About the only spell that beats this guy is terminate but for mono-black terror is still the best.

You can't target a black and/or artifact creature with Terror at all. You can't even begin to cast it.

I have a question. This seems to be the only printed version of Terror where it is worded "cannot target black or artifact creatures", whereas all the other versions say "destroy target non-black/non-artifact creature". Now what if a Horobi, Death's Wail is in play and you attempt to target a black creature with a Terror. Of course the Terror itself will not kill the creature, but with Horobi in play, any creature that becomes the target of a spell is destroyed... so can you target a black or artifact creature with Terror? And because of Horobi's ability it will be destroyed?

This card and this art are Magic icons. This had to be one of the most-played and most-recognizable cards of its time. I love the art. It truly captures the feel of this card and explains how sheer terror can actually kill a creature. And I love that it gives no hint at what is causing the fear because it is only in the victim's mind. Even the background is an utter void as everything fades out of consciousness until all that is left is the indescribable panic that completely overwhelms the nervous system.
Oh yeah, and a great card that goes in every black deck, blah, blah, blah... powerful instant-speed removal, yadda, yadda, yadda...
