This art deserves a better card.

The possibility of rippling in to 2 or more copies of this card made this a dangerous spell in Coldsnap limited. In constructed, where it would take a fair bit of top-deck stacking to even ripple into one copy, this is just overpriced. Still useful in Ise Age block constructed, though.

I heard from some guy that he once saw a draft deck with around 10 or so of these. Losing your hand on turn 2 seems pretty unfair. The draft deck itself lost in the semifinals of that tournament in the end, he said.

I love the artwork on this card.
As for it's playability, I could see this being an interesting card to use in extended and other constructed formats. Although the chances of sucessfully forcing 4 cards from your opponent's hand is slim, I think it's worth the gamble.

Ripple seems like it would have been tricky to balance, since the 40-card Limited format (combined with the ability to draft and play more than four and their positioning at common) would have made ripple cards quite dangerous if they were good enough to be powerful in constructed (seriously, imagine someone drafts 8 of these and drops one first turn. That's not gonna be pretty). Eight might be a bit of a stretch, but even with just four it's a 1 for 1 at worst and nasty hand removal at best.
