Crypt Rats. If you want to be disgustingly cruel to your playgroup, add Swarmyard.

Since the card does not contain the keyword "controller", and instead it says "you". There is a huge difference between owning and controlling. Despite an opponents creature being enchanted this still says "you." Which is logic because your opponent never took control of the enchantment, and enchanting their creature does not cause them to own this enchantment. Look up the rulings on this card it should make sense. And if the rulings don't help ask on the Wizards forums, come on people, this is pure logic!

Same thing as Spirit Link but in black. Why is this not great? In a B/W lifegain/drain deck, you can have 8 cards with this effect (putting it on your enemy's creatures is one of the best things evar). Add in a Sanguine Bond, and shut your enemy down. I approve.

In response to Tnelis, yes you would gain life if the enchanted creature does damage from an ability. Or in any manner, not just combat damage. And with 2010 rules update this ability and lifelink are now distinct so it loses the timing advantage, but gains the ability to stack like D3STRUCTO said. So if a creature has this and lifelink or two Vampiric Links attached to it you would gain life equal to twice the amount of damage delt.

This makes for a sick combo on Oros the Avenger, Rumbling Slum, or any creature with "unlockable" or "shadow" or any creature equipped with a Mage Slayer. :D

This card is amazing for any of those black creatures that damage you as a drawback.

Yes, you can put it on an opponents creature to make it stop attacking you.

Vampiric Link doesnt give the enchanted creature lifelink if it did it gather would show it in the details. All it does it whenever the creature deals damage you gain that much life which should also mean this stacks.

To answer the "do I gain life if I play it on an opponents creature" question: yes, you do gain the life, but only after the damage has been dealt. That means if you would die because by combat damage this turn, this enchant doesn't help you.
All in all, this card is too weak. Most of the time the enchanted creatures will be bounced, killed, pacified or whatever, and you lose two cards (creature + enchant) to one card (removal). Also, if you slap it on a small creature, the effect ain't worth it. If you slap it on a big creature, why don't you just attack with it and win?
