if the creature has an ability such as T "creature" does 1 damage to target player or creature, if he is enchanted with vampiric link does the controller gain that amount in life?

@abyssalmanzero That is the absolute beauty of the card. Rather than saying the controller it says you, so even if you play it on an opponents creature you gain the life. Why would you want it any other way?

One of the best lifegains. Crazily good in pauper -- run four of these and drop some on your creatures and some on your opponents. Unless they can bounce their creatures, they won't be attacking you anytime soon. Even if they block your attackers with it, you win.

@ClowWizardEriol: What are you talking about?! This card's ability is a triggered effect. Which means, if the opponent's creature that's enchanted with vampiric link can deal you a killing blow before the ability resolves, you lose! That goes for both combat damage and directe damage (e.g. {T}: Deal one damage to target creature or player.)... especially with machine guns like hermetic study + horseshoe crab, where vampiric link's ability goes on the stack after you get pinged, and then you get pinged again and again before any of the triggers resolve.

The current rules text has not been changed in simply "lifelink". Since two Spirit Links don't stack anymore after the rules change for lifelink...is this one still stacking when enchanted together with Spirit Link to the same creature?
