One of the earliest combat tricks in Magic was putting Lure on a Thicket Basilisk and attacking your opponent. Prior to 4th edition changes, Fog was an effective means to counter such an attack (for one turn anyway). 4th edition cleaned Fog up so-to-speak, removing the clunky "otherwise affect any creature as a result of an attack or block" clause.

A good card that has saved my bacon several times. Very useful for setting up a strong counter attack.

I love getting this when the game is getting pretty crazy, and my opponent swings with everything because he knows I'm dead. Then, whoops, fog, now I get to swing at him for the game because he's all tapped out. In a creature-heavy game, fog is like counterspell.

What makes this version so great? The seven lines of text to say "Prevent all combat damage this turn." lol Awesome card though, I intend to use it in my Wurm deck, attack with everything so they block it all, they attack with everything and I throw a Fog out, and then attack with everything a second time, with them having no way to block it this go around.

I always thought it would be funny if they did a printing of Fog where the picture box was just solid whitish-grey.
