One wonders why Kormus Bell's swamps have been changed to black creatures while these have been left colorless.

Interesting observation, Shisha. I never noticed that before. Kormus Bell, itself a colorless artifact, turns Swamps into black creatures. Living Lands, a green enchantment, turns Forests into colorless creatures. The olden days of Magic didn't offer much in the way of Overrun type effects, so making your Forest hoard into formidable attackers required something like Orcish Oriflamme.
