A rare control card for red. Great for forcing enemies to lose counters, auras and equipment. Can erase token creatures and mess up blockers. Change the field for a turn by bouncing a Lord/Liege at the last second. If you all out attack, you can protect yourself from the biggest attacker during the opponent's turn and all out attack the next turn.

It's a type of control for red that isn't usually available, which is why it cost more. And being able to either kill a little creature with good abilities or bounce a big creature that's coming at you, with the same four cards? That's worth it. This is a decent card.

This card made it to a lot of sideboards when this set was in standard (occasionally it'll be in the main deck), and it makes quite a few sideboards in extended. A red unsummon will catch a LOT of people off guard. And if the creature has low toughness, you just pay R and kill it instead.

You know, I used to want you Dead, but now I only want you Gone.

What Ritius said. Pretty useful card if only for the versatility.

Direct damage and a RED bounce on the same card?
GREAT!

I really want to like this card, but the fact that it's the ONLY split card currently printed at common means I probably won't be including this in my pauper cube. The way these cards work is not immediately obvious to the younger players I frequently cube with -- some of whom are still figuring out that "add G to your mana pool" does not mean "search your deck for another forest."

Especially if you can make a person discard or shuffle in their hand. Definitely a possibility in red with Winds of Change, Wheel of Fortune, Dragon Mage, Molten Psyche, etc.

No love for the name of the card?
No "your creature is dead" jokes?
For once, the humor of the gatherer has failed me.
