So, why is the flavor text of a Kamigawa nature if this card was never in the Kamigawa block?

I personally like the flavor of this Kamigawan Bog Wraith. The idea that certain creatures and spells are universally discovered and harnessed on multiple planes is conveyed well through reprints - like this Bog Wraith is unrelated to the one in the other core sets (which is probably looking for Frodo Baggins), but is the same kind of creature. Just like there is a Krosan Naturalize and also an Alaran version.

Also, the art is fantastic.
