Historically, Red deck wins has a poor match up against white weenie. This extremely efficient Red two-drop helps out against that match-up dramatically. And c'mon, it's just really cool too.

Now we only need a Doomknight that has protection from white, black and red.
Immune to most (if not all) removal (yeah except mass removal)

Why is his rating so much better than Black Knight? they are pretty much the same other than that they are different colours.

@Mutant
He is , he doesn't need to see where he is going. His allies just point him in a direction and he charges. :-P

OMFG! I thought they could not make art for a knight cooler than Black knight; I was wrong :D
That flavour text is among the most spectacular ever. GREAT CARD!

Interestingly enough, Blood Knight's flavor text kinda answers the question on Black Knight.

they should make this a complete cycle of knights with protection from one of their enemy colors
White Knight vs black knight and blood knight
viridian knight vs azure knight

I don't know why some of you are speculating on whether this might be a timeshifted version of Silver Knight, it says that it's one of Black Knight in the Ruling Notes. (Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see them.)
Of course regarding colors (and creature types) there is often a change involved to adapt the card to its new enemy/allied colors or better suiting creature types. But in Blood Knight's case there was already a completely suiting card available that could simply get shifted in color without any further changes - Black Knight.
Silver Knight certainly makes the perfect counterpart to this card as White Knight is for Black Knight, though.
On top of this, "Blood" is a prefix that makes it suit better as enemy of white than as enemy of blue.
And even if they created that card (hopefully with a different name then) with Protection from Blue, they would have needed to create a blue co... (see all)
