Will people stop saying that cards made for Limited - like this - are unplayable? In Lorwyn block draft, this can hold down an aggressive opposing deck, enable clash for combo with other cards or work together with Treefolk or Warrior support.

wont be played by someone wanting to win competitive magic. but someone who knows what they're doing in terms of a fun casual multiplayer environment might make a deck based on clash, and so an extra clash every turn might be useful. that does, however make this a very narrow card, very narrow cards get high ratings only if they have good combo ability or an extremely fun/good effect. this has neither.

It enables Clash at each of your turns, so potentially useful.

And yet again, Magic designers show that they have NO CONCEPT of what damage putting "defender" on a card does to it.
They didn't even change this defender treefolk's base stats to make up for the crippling ability!
I just :shakehead: at crappy Defender cards that aren't even as strong as non-defender versions....

Can help a Kinship strategy. Give you some information about the top card of your opponent (and his need), so can help you to mill it. Can help your decision to play Declaration of Naught, Runed Halo, Lammastide Weave, Voidstone Gargoyle, or activate a Fa'adiyah Seer or Rebellion of the Flamekin... Can help you to play other clash card, and make Entangling Trap interesting.

How many card are not used in tournament? Many! Ok, this one will never see a tournament, but a 3/5 for 5 with his ability is very decent. I like it. 2,5/5.

Allows you to card filter, and is a roughly-on-curve creature. 3/5 IMO.
