I dig thats it's an instant, which is often overlooked. You can leave 3 mana open, attack without fear, and then let your opponent try to counter attack and drop 2 elves into play. If your playing with normal tribal elf decks that contain imperious perfect or etc., then those tokens can be anywhere from 2/2 to 4/4 and probably death touch. It also lets you control your next draw by moving the top card of your library to the top or bottom of the deck.

Marvelously flavorful card, and clash makes perfect sense on this one. I can just see an attacking party, suddenly met by a pair of elves drop in, and then they clash it out, but if the assassin's aren't seen in time, they manage to kill a few attackers before being struck.

I've seen this card put to good use time & time again online. Typically, to take out those important early creatures not normally used to attack, but also to take out huge creatures with the chance for deathtouch. Add in you choose if you want to keep the card you reveal on top, or put it on your bottom. If you play this card, you will know how awesome it is.

I love clash in multiplayer because you can help out the weakest player while smoothing out your own draw. I'm not as big a fan on it in a duel.

It's a solid card even if the Deathtouch is a bit unlikely to activate since Elves have so many low mana cost creature.

Elf decks like to have a lot of elves. Instant speed also gives this quite a bit of flexibility. Elf decks also don't need a ton of lands if they have enough mana elves, so lower land counts don't really hurt. With less land, more clashes are won, and when this wins a clash, boom! Two for one removal is my jam.
