One of the few cards I've seen where the alternate art printing featuring a voluptuous woman is rated lower than other printings. Maybe the mental image of her penetrating another mage with a spear of stone is too uncomfortable for the average Magic player?

I'd prefer this card if it was an instant or if it targeted players too - otherwise I'd consider going with Lightning Bolt, Incinerate, Tarfire, Shock, Blazing Salvo, Fire/Ice, Flame Burst, Kindle, Lash Out, Searing Blaze, Flame Slash, Volcanic Hammer etc etc etc...

Good for killing creatures if you control a bunch of Mountains. But if you control a bunch of mountains, you should already be winning the race, and not concerned with very conditional sorcery-speed removal.
