No it shouldn't, because it is fairly commonly known (or should be) that A TARGET WITH PROTECTION FROM THE COLOR OF THE SOURCE OF THE SPELL/ABILITY IS NO LONGER A LEGAL TARGET, and will be unaffected by path to exile, for example, if given protection from white.

Seems great to protect your general in EDH.
The artwork and the flavor of this card are really beautiful. I love Lorwyn!

@cOunter:
Yes you can cast this twice in rapid succession. As soon as it resolves it returns to your hand, ready to be cast anew.

If you cast this on a creature, and you win the clash, could you re-cast it instantly? I mean, for example, your opponent casts a lightning bolt on your creature, then you cast Redeem the Lost and you win the clash (i.e. RtL returns to your hand), then your opponent casts a second lightning bolt; could you cast this again in response of the second LB?

What is going on with the art of this card?

Shouldn't it say in the ruling, whether this card can be used to block spot removal, like Path To Exile

@cOunter: But your opponent would probably cast the second Lightning Bolt on top of this. Since the clash and possible return to hand happens as a part of Redeem the Lost resolution, you wouldn't be able to cast it second time. And what more, the target of Redeem the Lost will be illegal target (dead, already in grave) at the time it resolves and the whole spell will be countered (no clash, no returning to hand)
Second point, if he let the Redeem the Lost resolve before casting second LB, you dont have to cast it again, because the creature has protection (from red in this case I assume) till the end of turn.
