I got an elf deck where I play this and Rhys the Redeemed. It feels so weird having both Rhys's on the field.

Yep, the legend rule only cares if they have the entire name exactly the same. The planeswalker rule, however, cares if their planeswalker type is the same. If both Rhys cards were planeswalkers instead they would probably both have the type Rhys and could not be in play at the same time.

since they don't have the exact same name you can have this and the redeemed on the filed. Tested it with the two akromas :)

Rhys shows how they needed to balance the Wellwisher. Life gain equal to the number of elves can build up very fast. His toughness is a little low to survive many attacks to try to pump him with things like Imperious Perfect or Bramblewood Paragon.

Regarding the legend rule: As long as they aren't the same card you can have both in play. If you have an Odyssey Kamahl, Pit Fighter in play and cast a 10th edition Kamahl, Pit Fighter , the legend rule will send both to the graveyard. If you had any Kamahl, Pit Fighter in play and cast Kamahl, Fist of Krosa, the legend rule sees them as different legends and both stay in play.

I really don't see any flavor behind his abilities, as he was kinda scorned by all the elves he wouldn't have any elves with him to gain life, and he wasn't evil, so sacrificing them to save himself doesn't make any sense ether.

I love the flavor and tie-in with the shadowmoore Rhys the Redeemed. I'd love to pull this in a pack soon. Got a question. Seems obvious but i'm just curious. Since there are two Rhys's, and they are both legendary, can you play both of them at the same time? My guess is a yes, but I could be wrong. Any help would be awesome!

Got creamed with this in my brother's elf deck. On turn 5 the score was 41-0.

Flavourwise it works having both as Lorwyn and Shadowmoor (and morningtide/eventide) are parallel universes, same people but slightly different nature, and yes, they have crazy synergy.
