Before Jace, the Mind Sculptor even existed, this card has single-handedly won me games via lock down. Sure, it's cost is a bit high, but for what it can do, you'll find a way to make this work!

I love how this was a rare with a draw back and a life cost, but they didn't think it'd be broken to put a better version of this ability on a planswalker who can use it for free every turn.

Obviously designed to keep land denial decks in check, but if you're fine with letting them draw land after land, then this can be use as a decent lockdown, provided you can afford the somewhat hefty life cost

A little dated, but in a b/w life gainer, this is a great card to lock an opponent down while you're boys with lifelink widdle down an opponent.

DENIED! I would get this card just so I can say that.

You know, I always thought this card actually prevented your opponent from drawing a card each time you paid the 2 life and sent a non-land card to the graveyard. That might have been from some Visions spoiler I looked at back in the day. Well, that would have been insane, making Hymn to Tourach look tame by comparison with such card advantage.
Still, this is quite the underrated artifact here. Would be very annoying to have used on you. Lately you guys have been preaching about how "losing life doesn't matter, Spoils of the Vault, rah rah rah." So why only a low 3 stars out of 5 here? Wand of Denial can mess up your opponent's draws pretty badly in the early game. You may pay 6-8 life during that game, but it will likely be worth it.
