these diamonds probably would have been fine without the 'comes into play tapped' text. i doubt they'd be overpowered.

This is an investment and if your playing ramp, there is worse and better options. Even if you can't use it the turn it comes into play, it gives you +1 in the mana race and if you have flash, cast it during opp turn and then use it on yours. Not horrible, not great.

Decent, but Coldsteel Heart renders it obsolete in many formats. That said, can we please have a reprint of this cycle in M15 instead of the usual lucky charm junk?
@greenandblack: This provides mana acceleration, meaning that it lets you give up your turn two to cast a four mana card on turn three. Comparing this to a basic land is apples and oranges.
