This artwork still terrifies me. Thanks, Jesper.

I've always liked the artwork on this card. Now that it's a zombie, I may pick up a playset to add to my zombie deck.

The fallen are wizards who manaburned themselves to death. They played a part in the 'gathering dark' book.

Attack, deal them a damage. Sit him in front of 2/2 utility creatures . Laugh maniacally.
You have to actually *think* when you read old cards.

Although most people won't think so, this is an extremely devastating card, they work amazingly well in b/u control deck along with vebuilds. Just pop in a couple paradox haze's and you've got up to 5 recurring burn every turn :)

Is the flavor text a reference to the average mtg player's propensity to splurge and spend tons of money on boosters?

The Fallen's creature type is now Zombie. Does this fit? Personally, it doesn't seem undead to me.

I just read The Gathering Dark by Jeff Grubb, and these were mentioned. Yay! I know my Magicz.
Anyway, this card is cool, even if it is a little black-mana intensive. I personally like it.

Frankly, I found this thing scarier when it WASN'T a zombie. It's like, what IS that weird thing with the red eyes and creepy grimace??? Funny how simply giving something an air of familiarity can take away some of the creepiness. That's human psychology, for ya. (The fact that I could simply Lightning Bolt the guy may add to that, too. :P )

dont think of this as a creature, think of it as an enchantment that deals 1 damage per turn. it multiplayer, think of it as enchantment that says 'target table targets you with target table attack'
what is a table attack? its where the whole table attacks you.
if you're worried about the density of black mana symbols...may I point you to Necropotence and Phyrexian Obliterator? you might as well. if your already running mono-black, then you really dont have any excuse not to at least THINK about it.
