A good way to give your opponent a good number of creatures to Massacre wurm into oblivion.

Wow, after reading the discussion thread, I must admit that this card is actually pretty awesome. Combo potential? Check. Great flavor? Check. Generally good? Check. (Though you still have to build your deck around it, somewhat.)

Here is a deck:

Powerstone Minefield, Armageddon and Paladin en-Vec. Fill it in from there. It's situational but rampage is cherry on the top because if someone has two creatures big enough to survive the Minefield.

Say what you will about the War-Riders I guess, but at least it's a interesting card.

He is a Powerhouse!
Got a Deck with him in it, works quite well:

it is U/R and uses
Earthquake,forbidden orchard, Hissing Iguanar, Serum Powder, Dingus Staff, Hunted Phantasm, Leyline of Singularity, Ponder, thirst for Knowledge, Hunted Dragon Artifact-, duallands and Basics

With Serum Powder you pretty surely have a free Leyline out Round zero, which makes the upkeep costs of Varchild irrelevant (at first). To have Cardquality and a spell for Round one Ponder lets you look that you get nothing double or three times.

After that you play Varchild, which is a supereffective beater for 2 Mana.

Round three you either dig deeper with thirst and discard your double Dingusstaff or one of the many artifactlands to get a huge Cardadvantage, or you can get Hissing Iguanar out and turn... (see all)

I have been playing around with war-riders since they came out. The current cards that make it work, at least for me. sadistic glee something a little more current illness in the ranks
