This card is definitely underrated on here. A deathtouch for 1 in a R/G deck? Sure, he won't win destroy everything, yadda yadda, but talk about a great stopper.
I agree that the Deadly Recluse is arguably the better play, but there are waaay worse creatures to pull out when you need one.
4/5

Turn one, mountain, this guy
Turn two, rootbound crag, deadly recluse.
There, turn two you have 2 cheap death touchers. Go ahead and play a some retarded basilisk turn 3. Like Daggerback basilisk. Then turn 4 you can play. . .more of these guys? Turn 5, a greater basilisk? That could be incredibly annoying XD.

They're probably never going to make half mana symbols in significant formats. Besides, one mana isn't all that bad when you consider it, if its being played turn one its not going to be useful yet. The iguanar is better reserved for late game when you have a green creature in the battlefield and need a cheap, lethal defender.

Toxic Iguanar can pillage any non-first-strike creature thats pretty bad ass for one mana.

A potential deathtoucher for 1 mana is insane, even if it is just a 1/1.

Since it's probably going to be at the very least turn 2 for you to get his ability, and to get it you'd have to be playing green anyway, you're better off with Deadly Recluse.
