Its not too good now, but think to the future; we may see a utility card that gives all of your cards cycling {3} or something like that in future sets, then the resounding cycle would be awesome.

This *is* the best of the Resounding cycle. Uncounterable 6 damage, plus card draw? True, the cycling cost is high, but generally you're cycling it as a finisher. I think eight mana is just fine in this case.

I agree, most of the Resounding Cycle seems pretty lackluster, and with the wide variety of burn available, this one is easily overshadowed. To be perfectly honest, I think I prefer Resounding Silence - granted, you can't burn the player, but at least you can take out creatures bigger than 3 toughness.

Even with the cycle it's still lack luster because you're never going to cycle this, and even if you could, why wouldn't you be playing an ultimatum at that price instead of cycling the resounding thunder? Violent ultimatum.. or .. resounding thunder.. yeah ok that's an easy one. The only time it's ever an advantage is if your in a losing game and top decking, and you need to draw a card fast. Basically, it can be considered a 3 mana lightning bolt.

I'm not positive but it can't be countered when you cycle it right? Cycling is an ability . I mean its still not.. Amazing but uncounterable 6 damage and a card draw.

I would argue the best of the resounding cycle. Being able to cycle this card for 6 damage to an opponent is often game-turning if not game-winning. However, none of the resounding cycle is very playable to begin with.

Given that previous cards like Mental Discipline and Compulsion have avoided using the Cycling keyword, I'm pretty sure we won't see a utility card like that.

The rest of this cycle is terrible, and though this card is the best, it isn't better by much. Eight mana across three colors for 6 damage and a card? I'll hang on to my Kamahl's Sledges, thanks.

Braid of Fire. Stick it in your jund deck. It's too bad Lightning Bolt entered Standard with M10, then this card really got nerfed.
