Nice combo with Amoeboid Changeling.

While, yes, it is better than Mons's, Mons's were pathetic anyway. Use Raging Goblin instead of this.

Strictly better than Mons's Goblin Raiders and the flavor text is a nice nod to Goblin Balloon Brigade. The ability is admittedly weak, especially since most defenders aren't even Walls anymore. But the card has great flavor and great artwork. Considering the power level of creatures during The Dark, at common, Goblin Digging Team is actually pretty good.

The original goblins were simply weak. Don't run them.

Definitely decent back when it was printed. I think you have to a card's environment and peer group into account when you rate it. As other's have mentioned, this was better than some of the other goblins at the time. And maybe it was just my friends and I, but I remember a decent number of walls being played, especially flying walls. This guy was almost essential for a goblin deck, due to lack of better options. Plus, the flavor was great and it started a timeless tradition of sacrificing goblins to wreak havoc. And Ron Spencer really helped define mean-looking early goblins of Magic with cards like this one and this one. We can thank Mr. spencer for making gobbos cool; we could have been stuck with this.
