This makes me want to create a Lawyer theme deck with this and a bunch of other bureaucratic cards like Icatian Moneychanger. Who will join my noble quest?!

Tokens do hit the graveyard and then cease to exist.
So yes you can use this along side Sacred Mesa or any other token producers.

You can't use this to tokens dying I'm pretty sure. They do not hit the graveyard.
