So the Lemures in this flavor text are they the wrong ones (Hyalopterous Lemure) or the right ones (Viscid Lemures)? It sounds like they're the wrong ones...

I liked this guy a lot back in the day. You rarely had to actually sink the blue mana into pumping it, because the fact that you *could* (blue mages always have blue mana sources untapped on the opponent's turn!) usually meant that you usually didn't get attacked at all. In fact, relative to the big 0/X walls, this cold-war mentality often held off multiple attackers. An opponent with 2 3/3s wouldn't attack with either of them for fear of you pumping up and killing one and keeping your wall, whereas if you had a low-power tough wall they'd keep attacking in groups to get one attacker through wile the blocked one lived on.

I've said it before, shade-pump is a hugely powerful ability, but it is not quite so good on a creature with defender. Spend your mana on a Wall of Frost instead, unless you desperately want to kill something and have mana to burn.

An overlooked card, you can quite easily pump him up to block a big guy with trample. Still, when it comes to the mana cost, you have to go with Wall of Frost.
