This guy is a feel-good kind of average. The kind of common that can go into a lot of casual decks, from U/W flyers and bird tribal to the artifact-support that he was meant for. Being a blue artifact also works great with Grand Architect

I feel like they would need some other ability to be playable in constructed, but I'm not sure what.

Not bad, definitely a solid addition to U/W. If you're playing U/W/B in an Esper deck, consider the Tower Gargoyle instead, as it is the same casting cost and gives you a stronger creature.

Excellent card in limited, just add black and +1/+1 in constructed. Oh, or go green and give it trample. Eh, just add another white and get +1/+1 and vigilance.

Cormorants Are Cool Glad That They Put Em On A Card Especially Artifact Style And Pretty Good In Conflux Draft

It's a functional card. 3/3 for isn't too shabby. Obviously not for straight Esper (Tower Gargoyle is just too good to be removed), but if you were, say, running Bant/Esper, it makes a nice evasive beater for fairly cheap and can help monitor the skies for you. Totally limited fodder, but that's all right by me.

3/3 flying for 4 is decent.
