becomes and enters the battle feild are 2 different things
if a forest is on the battle feild before hand or your last turn then when it becomes a creature it shouldnt have summoning sickness therefore it can tap and attack as normal.

Since people keep asking questions, this card works as follows:

If a forest is in play one must be targeted. It does not have to be named "Forest", but have the basic land type of forest, which means the Ravnica double lands (Overgrown Tomb) can be animated with it.

The targeted land does not have to be your own land. The only requirement on the target is that it have the type "Forest". A creature with the type "Forest" (such as a land that was previously animated with another effect) can be targeted to change it from whatever it was to a 4/5.

The animated land counts both as a creature and a land. It is subject to all rules for both. If the land came under your control since the beginning of your turn, it has "summoning sickness" and cannot tap for any purposes, including its generic "{T}: add {G} to your mana pool" ability.

If an effect could target a land or a creature it can target this animated land. A creature destruction would destroy the animated land.... (see all)

So here is a question. The rules displayed here for the Awakener Druid says that its essential that a forest becomes the 4/5 creature. Couldn't the player target oppenents forest were it available?

@Joseph_Leito

Once the forest leave the battlefield its no longer considered the same forest so it wouldn't be affected by awakener druid anymore and hence, would no longer be a creature.

@Zentoker

Unless there was a fundamental game change I missed somewhere. All permanents have summoning sickness when they come into play, but it only affects creatures and stops them from attacking or using an ability with the tap symbol. So if you played that forest that turn, yes it would have summoning sickness when turned into a creature.

Huge reward, huge risk. I like this card, but the risk of making one of your 3 forests a creature is HUGE. You've opened it up to having it bounced or worse, 2 mana land destruction. Amazing in limited against green, white, or red-- relegate it to the sideboard against black or blue.

Etherium, you can pretty much unsummon any creature to get rid of it. That's kinda why they call it unsummoning.

Although, I must wonder if the forest would remain a creature or not once off the battlefield. This card says it stays as long as ~ is on the battlefield, nothing about the forest itself.

This card is awesome until the opponent kills the vulnerable 1/1 druid and the 4/5 tree with it. Its not really all that great considering that the opponent proabably will have some type of removal to deal with this threat.

One question....Is the 4/5 Treefolk creature affected by summoning sickness in any way?
