Well, since the flavor text seems semi-similar,

"I just don't understand why they would print this when Mulldrifter is still in standard... and truth is that Mulldrifter is strictly better."

This is a card meant to be played exclusively in M10 Limited. This was one card of several that Wizards pointed out as being very simple and flavorful in a revitalized attempt to market Core Sets to new players. Mulldrifter can't be played in M10 Limited.

isn't using magic to find your car keys a little lazy?

It's playable only because there is an utter lack of decent card draw right now in the standard/type 2 flormat.

I would much rather they had reprinted Opportunity or Treasure Trove than this. Yes, they both cost more, but they both work much better!

Okay, that does it. I'm going to become the "strictly better" police now.

Mulldrifter is not "strictly better". Mulldrifter is a creature card that can be evoked into play for the same mana cost as Divination, giving you the same effect.

Yes, it has the flexibility to also be a creature that sticks if you need it, and is undoubtedly the better card in like 99% of games.

However, here's some stuff that can happen to you if you opt for the Mulldrifter:

- Opponent steals Mulldrifter out of your graveyard with Rise From the Grave or something (it generally being easier to yoink creatures out of the graveyard)

- Opponent has something like Blade of the Bloodchief, Mortician Beetle, or another card that cares about creatures hitting your graveyard/being sacrificed.

- Opponent is running more spells of a creature-countering nature, such as Essence Scatter

Mulldrifter is the better card. It is ... (see all)

I don't know why they all of a sudden decided to made tons of duplicates of already existant cards rather then reprinting them as they used to do in past core sets. Maybe they wanted to "generalize" the names, although i liked those extracted fromout past set as well, since these names contained some sort of Magic's history. On the other hand i like those new ones as well :D

i would say sign in blood is better, the 2 life are worth one less mana, and you can use it on your opponent if he is really low on life, for blue, well you guys have alternatives, ponder is a start.

nice art

In honor of the original, the skull around his neck should have been a rabbit skull. Maybe it is?
