Obi-Wan Kenobi called. He wants his lizard-thing back.

Best invoker, imho. Comes in the color that's most likely to get the necessary mana, and as a 4/3 for 4 is on the above-average end of the curve. Even if you have no other creatures out, he can make himself strong enough to kill all but the biggest Eldrazi.

This had made some of my late games utterly rediculous, albeit barely practical to keep in a deck, save the 4/3 Elf part.

Why is everyone so bent on talking about elves? I really like this card as an invoker in general because unlike its similiar counterpart in this same set, it doesn't make the creature 5, it gives it +5 and trample. There are so many creatures you just wish you could give trample too sometimes (giant eldrazi being one of many). Plus, how fun is it to turn a tiny eldrazi spawn into a 5/6? When you have the mana this wins games, when you don't it's still a decent 4/3 for 4.

I'd love to get +5/+5 and Trample on my tiny little elves. Makes them so much more fun to stomp with

Elves, one of the few who can handle the mana to use their invoker yet usually don't need it.

Trample is what does it for me. Not the worst invoker. 4/3 elves for four aren't bad either.

This card combos well with Bant exalted decks, where attacking with multiple creatures after using cards like Overrun would negate the exalted bonuses.
