Can give Protection from White, where flickering ward cannot. I find this worth the extra one mana, and tossing it on your fatty in response to removal is always fun.

someone help with rulings on this:
If i toss this on a creature (let's say Aura Gnarlid) in response to removal, will it survive and then be protected against (hopefully) my opponent's deck?
Example, lets say he tries to Doom Blade my Gnarlid, can I play this in response and be forever exempt from his black removal?
(Unless he plays something else in response, or targets the aura directly)

Excellent protection card. It should always be used for its flash effect, as it not only saves the creature from a targetted spell or creature ability your opponent's about to use, but the look of annoyance on your opponent is fun to watch when the spell fails. For those who didn't go and read the errata, it grants protection from white without automatic destruction. Maybe someday if it's reprinted they'll clear that up.

Cho-Manno's Blessing is so much better. Flickering Ward is cheaper and can bounce yet removes itself if you choose white.

Masques Block had some great mechanics to it, and playing creature enchantments at instant speed opened up tons of opportunities. It's been pointed out by other comments that this (like Alexi's Cloak) can operate as a counterspell when played in response to your opponent's spell. Then it sticks around and offers all that goodness that comes with color protection. In Block play, a Steadfast Guard with a Cho-Manno's Blessing pro-blue was a win condition against Rising Waters. Playing Rebels with one of these in your hand is a very comforting feeling when your opponent is looking to torch your weak recruiters.
