Red removal that kills without damage. Cool. Helps against regenerators, and of course you also have the option of pumping your creature, though that would almost never happen.

Pumping your own creature comes with the risk of card disadvantage, but if you manage to hit your opponent with the enchanted creature you at least got one Shock (or multiples) out if it.
I think a Kird Ape that can attack your opponent on turn 2 for 4 damage doesn't sound that bad :P

Maggot Therapy is the black version of this. And that version has flash. Though it's a bit more pricey.

I think this would still be a pretty good card even if it were just R to give a creature -0/-2.

I would have liked this much better as an instant.

This is interesting - a cheap form of removal, a persistent buff on your creature or debuff on theirs. Fair mana cost, and auras are often recurrable from the graveyard (i.e. Retether)

However I fail to understand how being immolated could in any way increase a creature's power. Adrenaline perhaps?

It's on fire so if it pokes things they get burned. :)

Removal when you need it, beat face when you don't. All wrapped up in a nice {R} package.
