I, too, initially interpreted the as a for some reason...
At least he has a unique ability, so he's not strictly terrible.

Somehow I like him. Good name, awesome art. The abilities actually fit well. He can trample over small creatures, killing them, dealing trample damage to the opponent, gaining you life AND dealing damage with his special ability to the opponent.
With grand melee he could be fun too.

@ Dr.Pingas: That system of evaluating a card's mana cost didn't work fifteen years ago, and it doesn't now. Expensive creatures can afford to have more abilities and power for their mana cost, as they tend to be much less efficient then the removal your opponents have. Furthermore, they're coming into play against a battlefield that has had time to be populated; most fatties need to address concerns like being chump-blocked and making an immediate impact on the board, lest they simply don't have any impact depsite their size and expense.

I'd run him just for the name. Come on, I would pay out the ass to be named Axelrod Gunnarson.

8 mana does not equal 5/5 trampler + subpar ability. But, then again, he is from Legends.

I thought this was good, until I saw 4BBRR where I thought it was 2BBRR... Terrible, as expected. But hey - 8 mana 5/5 legend from legends, we should be glad it even has abilities!

I mean, too expensive, sure, but come on people use your head, maybe mill/reanimation deck, not in the sense you are trying to mill them, just in the sense you want this in the graveyard to reanimate. Book Burning, Entomb, Buried Alive, and so on. My personal preference, however, is Vampiric Dragon, but both definitely have a place, maybe even together.

Why does such an awesome name belong to such a terrible card?
