I'd almost run him in my knight deck just because nobody suspects Sir Shandlar....

Well, he's slightly better than Tobias Andrion. Slightly.

They got the Flavor right with all of the Legends from Legends. They just didn't give them appropriate abilities.

His toughness is greater then his mana cost. If his power was 1 higher or he had an ability...

Ironically, no one remembers this card.

Saw Sir Shandlar at a comic book store. Bought him mint for a buck. I threw Sir Shandlar into my G/W deck just for the fun of it. Actually, he's not all that bad if you can get him out with Elvish Piper. Also Shield of the Oversoul is great on him, as is Armadillo Cloak. Wilt-Leaf Liege also makes him a 6/9. Two and a half stars for nostalgia's sake and some potential given the newer enchantments that have come out since Legends.

Base rating: ***
no effect: -*
color weight and lack of stat's to back up cost -*
lack of coolness required in legendary cards -*/2
A vanilla legend with a higher manna cost than his stats, I don't think it gets worse than that.

If he were "Sir Shandalar" instead of "Shandlar," he would be a 5/5.

"Remember Sir Shandlar?"
"Oh yeah, that guy was a dick, always standing firm."
Lascivious pun intended.
