Typically this would do at most 3 damage a turn. But there are plenty of ways to give your opponent cards before their upkeep so they get smacked with lots more. I'm not sure why Lord settled on 6 damage, however.
If I Braingeyser you with 2 or 3 of these out you can start shuffling for the next match.

This card is awesome, mostly aginest Blue players when they pull off annoying combos to draw far too meany cards than they should have. lol.

One of my favourite cards of all time! Fun to play Howling Mine or Sinkhole on the second turn.

I use this in a horribly annoying combo with Sphere of Resistance and various land destruction (Strip Mine for example).

One of the most memorial decks I used to play against in the pre-4th edition world used a set of these, Underworld Dreams and Brain Geyse to stomp your face.
Imagine you're at 5 cards with two vices and an Underworld Dreams targeting you. Your opponent hits you with a brain geyser for five on his turn, which means you take 5 from Dreams and then 12 during your upkeep...plus one on the draw, just for a bonus!
Course...his play set of Juzham Djinns didnt hurt as finishers!

Trade Secrets and Arcane Denial work wonderfully with this.
For a Similar card, See Iron Maiden, This works better in multiplayer games.
