"For a hundred years I stayed there, promising myself that I would give whoever freed me enough wealth to last him for ever, but the years passed and no one rescued me. For the next hundred years I told myself that I would open up all the treasures of the earth for my rescuer, but still no one rescued me. Four hundred years later, I promised that I would grant three wishes, but when I still remained imprisoned, I became furiously angry and said to myself that I would kill whoever saved me, giving him a choice of how he wanted to die. It is you who are my rescuer, and so I allow you this choice." -- The Thousand and One Nights, Night 2, M. C. Lyons trans.
Either you figure a way out of the situation -- as did the fisherman who discovered the bottle with Suleiman's seal -- and the 5/5 djinn serves you, or else the djinn does his best to kill you.

How can ten lines of card's text fit in a bottle so small?

@SnackyNorph: I can confirm that it isn't true at all. The Hive was in Alpha, for example...
However, even if I liked this card at its time, it's actually a quite horrible card. I understood the 50%/50% chance to gain a big creature, but spending + and a card for deal myself 5 damages is not my play of the dream...

I find it fitting this card has a 2.5 rating.

I guess you can keep this around as an Ace in the Hole, only breaking the bottle if you were about to die anyway. I think I'd rather just have a Serra Angel, and not wait around to die.

So a fifty-fifty chance; either a 5/5 Djinn, or a quarter of my life gone? Somehow this sounds like an iffy deal...

Seems legit.

The way this was worded makes me feel as if this 5/5 Djinn was the first creature token in Magic. Can anyone confirm this?

@DRJones
The text is not on the label of the bottle. The bottle comes in a box, the text is printed there (just like good scottish whiskey)!
