I'm surprised how high this is rated...

So a 2/2 defender for R. Not exciting at all. Pretty much garbage in any format. But hey, bad cards need to exist, right? Although I'd rather have Jackal Familiar back.
@n00bmag1 No, it will still be affected by summoning sickness.
@ZEvilMustache Are you talking about Chandra's Spitfire?

Pretty terrible, both as a card and flavor-wise. It is cla.ssified as a berserker, yet it normally can't attack.

I had three of these blighters and a goblin chieftain in M11 draft, but not one burn spell. Waste of cardboard.

Erm, ok....if this hits the table and I bolt someone, can it attack?
I ask because card text supercedes rules, and if I damage an opponent this card tells me it CAN attack. The rules say it can't because it has summoning sickness lol. Confusing.
UPDATE- Thanks for the info all, I get it now.

It's appearance is misleading. It's actually a defensive creature that, in theory, can be used to attack under very specific circumstances. It's a cheaper Ogre Sentry.

Look at it this way: it's a 1 mana creature that trades with the grizzly bears of the format - and there are a LOT of grizzly bears in the format.
Get a Prodigal Pyromancer out, or, if you're lucky, a Chandra Nalaar or Jinxed Idol, and he converts to an attacker. He's likely to trade at best - but trading a 1 mana creature for something that likely costs more is always a good deal (unless I'm mistaken, without assistance the only one drops that would trade with him are Elite Vanguard - an uncommon - and another Bloodcrazed Goblin).
He's *definitely* not a high pick - but I wouldn't feel bad slotting him in at 22 or 23 in a draft or sealed deck if I had no better options.

Poor little guy is so hungry that he can't take the time to stop and use a fork. Luckily someone forked up his weapon for him!
This creature's "redness" really resonates with me - he'll only fight when his wrangler (you) provides the proper motivation. It's regrettable that the flavour makes him such a marginal card, but the goblin tribe has had lots of time in the sun.
