This is what balance looks like, in my opinion. Back in the day, everyone understood that a basic 2/2 cost 2 mana, a basic 2/2 flying cost 3 mana, etc. And if it was any better, it needed a drawback or it needed to cost more. Nowadays there's no concept of an equation of cost to benefit. You might see a card like this reprinted these days in the same set as a 4/3 flying for 4 mana with flying, first strike, and the ability to draw a card every time a creature dies. Ridiculous.
