The fact that they are random discards is even more cruel... yes, that includes even when you use it to knock out your opponent's entire hand.

@nathanfl: 5 cards for 7? I guess that's better than 5 for 5, but better to play Hymn to Tourach, Blackmail, or Raven's Crime in those earlier turns, IMO. Then bop them with this on turn three or four.

There is nothing quite like playing a full hand against an empty one. This card, by itself, is merciless.
Indeed, you can almost feel bad after beating someone when this has been used on them, but if you're playing a vintage format they ought to have something wicked in store for you anyways.

Very brutal card. Just be carefull of thouse few old cards that fight back when their discarded like Guerrilla Tactics to name one.

if you play mind twist on yourself you should have played one with nothing.
but not neccessarily since you might situationally need to do such a thing.
I've played diabolic edict on myself before

I'm surprised this made it all the way to fourth edition.

Horrifying card with any meaningful mana acceleration.

Don't worry. The discard isn't totally random. I'll just pump enough mana in it to wreck your hand.
