Another neat planeswalker concept. He's good only when vast majority of your basic lands are mountains, and hes' vulnerable too. And that's just what mythics are ought to be: powerful but hard to play, not some average card. So this is one is fine mythic concept, IMO, unlike baneslayer, titans, jace 2.0 and other moneygrabbing autoincluded ***.

His emblem is brutal. Even if you manage to protect yourself from it, via Leyline of Sanctity once the emblem is out it becomes impossible to keep any guys on the board. Even Pro-Red doesn't work because neither the emblem itself, nor mountains (being basic lands) have a color.

The thing I love most about Koth is his ability to drop turn-4 double-threats. Example: Koth, -2, Chandra, the Firebrand. Follow that up next turn with Chandra's -2 and a Volt Charge or Tezzeret's Gambit, so Koth's -2 can be used again! Koth encourages red players to think BIGGER, and I like that.

Very Straightforward abilities, especially the first one, consider you do untap an mountain, which means you can get an extra red mana in that turn, or you can use it as a 4/4 to dish out 4 damage.
Ultimately, he makes your mountains into pyromancers that can't be dealt damage by red or white/black removal. After all that been said, everyone here agrees the 'Fury' awesomeness he represent.
After reading the comcs, this guy is patient and resolute to execute his plans to destroy your opponents while Chandra on the other hand prefer to hit it head on.
Bet most of us here want to see Glissa from the next expansion, after all, she is a planeswalker. Too bad Slobad died in the last encounter.

His -5 should read "For the rest of the game, you get a machine gun."

This is one of the coolest planeswalkers in my opinion.
But what is sad is that I have a friend that pulled him from a booster and decided to place him in a 3-color deck...

Finally, red gets mana acceleration and direct damage.

Hmmm wonder why this (currently) is rated lower than Venser.
Anyways, many people say that Koth can't protect himself, so he is bad. What people are forgetting is that Koth is a red walker. He does not need to protect himself, he just needs to dish out as much damage as possible.
Whether he's acting as a constantly recurring Vengevine, or leveling up a Kargan Dragonlord all the way in one turn, the fits like a glove into most mono red strategies.
And his ultimate pretty much wins the game. That always helps.
