I might consider drafting this in a a non-infect black deck running cards like Necrogen Scudder.. maybe as a one-of.

May not be great, but it will be fun in kitchen-table games. Go ahead and drop this while an opponent has 4 life or less, watch the fun ensue.
I don't think Spike players will find this very useful, though.

Fairly inefficient, but I love the art.

Would have been sexy with haste. Actually, why doesn't it have haste? It's a dog running full speed..
Also much much better in multiplayer. Knocking off 16+ life with a single card is fun.

Deathcurse ogre, is that you? Are you a dog now? Are you slightly more powerful, but still not too popular on the gatherer?

its a great card if you have a sangromancer on the field (only if it kills something though) or you equip a sylvok lifestaff to it (or both! Then you might actually make a net life gain!). It is also guaranteed to cause life point damage one way or the other.

Too expensive, but fits Black very well and can definitely give an opponent pause for thought.
Would have preferred it's life loss to have been larger than it's attack, so that an opponent would have to chose between being hit and getting acid all over their face.

I believe Plague Dogs from Urza's Destiny was the inspiration for such a card.

Black does have the best life gain of any color, so this is hardly a downside if you build with it in mind.
your kidding right?

Terrible card. Terrible, terrible, terrible card. Bad in any deck.
But the beautiful art and flavor text that just brings a smile to my face? It pleases the collector in me that I own a foil playset.
