Could an Ingester eat an Ingester to keep adding +3/+3 over and over? If so, use Phyrexian Metamorph or Clone to copy it and have the copy eat the original.

A good card, and how many Magic cards have X and Y on them? Aside from one nutty printing of Fireball where they were a bit too creative in trying to explain it, this is the only one I can think of... I guess it makes sense that blue is the color of multiple variables!

If you look at the text on the card, Phyrexian Ingester states that it exiles, then checks the p/t of the creature exiled. Since counters and other p/t changing affects do not apply when the creature is exiled, then it would only be the base p/t.

I love the type on this-"beast". That's rather nonspecific, It looks more like it should be creature- Mutant Spider wurm hydra horror to me. As for playability, it is a reanimate target for most, and nothing more. In EDH however, we have quite possibly the best beatstick in blue. It inherently nets a plus, removes indestructible creatures and will likely be the biggest thing on the field once it hits.
