I played this guy in Shandalar too, pretty much for half the game until I got all the P9 and such. Great card - the original.

This card interests me because at the time it was made it was strictly better than another card in Alpha, Hill Giant. I imagine the reason for this is the commonly cited story that Garfield didn't think that MTG would be as popular as it was and thus nobody would have a lot of one particular rare card.
Nowadays the Giant tribal cards means that Hill Giant isn't STRICTLY worse, just much worse.
