This card has its place in draft. Specifically, if your win condition isn't damage-based (mill, or self-mill into Lab Maniac), it's very effective removal, and easy to pick up late.
Because you'll have one in your sideboard a lot of the time, it's also a good emergency post-board lockdown for huge fatties your white/green or white/red deck might otherwise have few answers to, such as Ghoultree or Ludevic's Abomination.

I like this card way more than I should.
A creature with a non-attacking ability (Mesa Enchantress), or a midgame chump blocker (Sanctuary Cat) can become a superblocker. It safely defends against deathtouch, trampling, lifelink, and flying. It lets an untrained Human stop a Vampire Nighthawk in its tracks.
But there are some other situations where it's useful. It can be an overcosted Pacifism if you don't care about your opponents blocking (if your win condition is Chalice of Death). Or you can slap it on a creature with a special attacking ability (Geist of Saint Traft, Kessig Cagebreakers, Victory's Herald, or anything with Battle Cry) to let it attack into anything! Just watch out for selfrighteous Knight-Cathars.

This + Kaijin of the Vanishing Touch + Echo Circlet = Flying, Unsummoning, psuedo-indesctruble, multi-blocker

Put it on one of your creatures to get a tough blocker with no power. Put it on your Cockatrice and start grinning.
